Growing up on the south side of Danville, Va. you could choose to reach for the stars, be a hood star, or be known as a fallen star. I have witnessed several Kings become all three! Stars determine how bright they will shine and the rest of us place a value on that shine. Not a King though. You see, a King is more self-motivated and determined to create stability & become resourceful. This is a personal endeavor. You would think the term “King” is one born of arrogance and boasting, but here, in these pages, it describes the grit; the rise and fall, and most importantly, the mentality to defy the odds through self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the leadership it takes to succeed in whatever area of life you choose. A true rendering of the philosophies, experiences, motivations, failures, and successes of the author detailed as life lessons from a boy who became a man from the south side. A dreamer!
